_Entered USN in Samson NY. Had lots of SNOW in Boot camp.was  18 yrs old.

_Funny story..
during Boot camp, ended up with 2 set of USN Clothing issue !?
To get cleared on returning took almost entire bootcamp!

_RM, USS Kearsarge  CV33 aircraft carrier1946 1st cruse out of Norfolk VA

_RM School  Naval Armory ,Indy, IN , was a 20 week course included typing...
_Art had to Receive &  type 35 WPM to pass RM school.
"might have trouble doing 35wpm today!!"
_(net his wife while in RM School!
Then Alantic coast service...
_He had other duries during attack practice.
_He always wanted to work the press receive postion on ship, 
but needed 45-50wpm code speed .
_Food USN..liked it most of the time...
_SA-1 when discharged.

_Back to Indy after USN service to Marry his wife..
_Career after Navy, lots of jobs untill going to work for Indianapolis Power & Light co.
as a Data Processing person (1952)

_Hobby is bowling & Dancing at Indiana Roof where he met his wife.

_His oldest son is a ham radio operator  & Part of the IWM radio room group!
