28 NOV 2009 SAT IWM Museum visit By W9IH , N9IZN, N9KZJ & WA9FDO.. (x3.5.= 14.0hrs) OTA..KC9ONU & k9ilg 20m @ Ham 1... Exhibit visitors_45...& Gen. Goodwin (sky conditions: blue clear! ...time of tay: 9am-noon) [] [][]checked for visual appearence of the West (Horz.) Wire antenna. []we could see that the antenna was still up?!! it is barely visible.; but only if your looking for the antenna>>> the Vertical anntenna is more visible. note this is the rebuilt H-wire antenna... (has very small insulator & Partial dyed1/8" polyester rope) Completed: [][] Mike & Chuck drilled & remounted the catwalk H-wire antenna BALUN'S They are permanent on the outside of east & west windows. []Additionaly the coax has been routed throught the window frame at both loactions , this allows the window doors to be completely closed. [] the lightning arrestors have been permanetly mounted on the inside & to the window frame at each location. [][] Both old WIre/Balun fixtures are in the code room closet. ( back up!!!) [][]West H- Wire remains up with new black dacron rope at the window end.. this rope is now stored on the outside of the window permanently!!!. .(visual test continues) Trying to make less visible from the ground....! [][][]Ed & Dave added baking soda to the TBK transmitter for odor control...! also gave several tours of the Radio room exhibit.... [] still Need to do the same for the EAST antenna location, next time it is deployed!!!. 73 CHuck- W9IH
