USS INDIANAPOLIS - CA-35 (USS Indy Radio Room Exhibit)

Indiana War Memorial museum:
USS Indy Radio Central exhibit....

12 Amateur radio operators from the Ripley Co.ARC & Tri County HF Society ;
toured the Indiana War Memorial museum ,the USS Indy Radio room Exhibit &
operated the WW2IND ham station for
4 hours.
They worked 80-40-20-17 & 15 meter bands from 3 separte hams stations incorporated into
the USS Indy exhibit.
Assisted by Ed-N9IZN, Dave-N9KZJ, Larry-W9CC, Linda-N9WO &
Chuck - W9IH; they made 75 contacts consisting of 30 CW (morse);
worked the LST-325, USS Midway & USS Wisc. ships Hams and
Dx'ed into Russia, Europe & south Africa...
"not bad for a midday run to Indy from Ripley Co.IN"
Some of their group will be returning to operate the ships event in June 2010..
